Strip Till Bar

John Deere ST Series Strip-Till Bars

Strip-till clears residue and tills 8 to 10 inch strips where the next crop will be planted, leaving the soil between rows undisturbed. One pass can handle compaction management, nutrient application and seedbed preparation, which can replace several conventional tillage passes.

Koenig Equipment sells and supports John Deere strip-till bars across Ohio and Indiana. Request a quote and our team will help you set up row count, spacing and tillage tools for your planter.

John Deere Strip-Till FAQs

What is strip-till?
Strip-till is a minimum tillage system that clears residue and tills 8 to 10 inch strips, leaving the rest of the row undisturbed. It can cut trips across the field and helps reduce erosion and conserve moisture.

Should I choose shanks or coulters?
Coulters allow earlier field access to speed up seedbed preparation. Shanks fracture more soil in tough conditions and allow anhydrous ammonia application. Four bolts per row unit let you switch between them.

Can I apply fertilizer with a strip-till bar?
Yes. Nutrient application is part of the one-pass strip-till system, and the shank option allows anhydrous ammonia application.

How do I plant on my strips?
John Deere AutoPath can use data from the strip-till pass to create guidance lines for planting and later passes. Our Optimization Specialists can help you set it up.
