The ST16 runs 16 rows on 30 in. spacing with a 40 ft working width and comes in integral or drawn models. It clears residue and tills 8 to 10 in. strips while leaving the rest of the row undisturbed.
Dual coulters allow earlier field access, set depth from 2 to 6 in. with in-cab air regulators and run at up to 10 mph. Shanks increase soil fracturing in tough conditions and allow anhydrous ammonia application, with pin settings of about 9 in. or 11 in. deep, and four bolts per row unit make switching between them simple.
The ST16 Integral needs at least 400 hp and a Category 4/4N three-point connection with quick hitch, while the ST16 Drawn needs at least 480 hp. An additional 15 to 20 percent horsepower may be needed in tougher conditions or when pulling fertilizer carts or tanks.
Yes. The drawn model has two integrated dry fertilizer tanks of 160 bushels each and can carry up to 20,000 lb, with stainless steel meters and integrated scales. The integral model works with select third-party dry fertilizer systems, and both can apply anhydrous using shanks.
Yes. Drawn units can be ordered Active Implement Guidance Ready, with an integrated steerable hitch that steers the implement to the guidance line; the StarFire receiver and Application Controller 1100 are ordered separately. AutoPath uses data from the first strip-till pass to create guidance lines for planting, spraying and harvest.
