RT30 ROTARY TILLERS Utility Tractors Attachments Accessorie FAQs

What size tractor do I need for a John Deere RT30 rotary tiller?

It depends on the model. The RT3042 needs at least 15 hp and the RT3081 at least 40 hp, with maximums of 35 hp on the RT3042 and RT3049 and 60 hp on the RT3062, RT3073 and RT3081. All RT30 models run on a 540 rpm PTO.

What is the difference between forward and reverse rotating RT30 tillers?

Models without an R, such as the RT3062, have forward rotating tines, and R models like the RT3062R have reverse rotating tines. Reverse tilling breaks up compacted and rocky soil, sod and hard clay, and it keeps the tiller in the ground instead of walking on top of hard soil.

How deep does the John Deere RT30 rotary tiller till?

The RT3042 and RT3049 models till up to 7.5 in. deep, and the RT3062, RT3073 and RT3081 models reach 8.5 in. Working depth is set with skid shoes that have four height settings.

Is the John Deere RT30 compatible with iMatch quick hitch?

Yes. All RT30 models are iMatch compatible. The RT3073 and RT3081 fit Category 1 and 2 hitches, the RT3062 fits Category 1, and the RT3042 and RT3049 fit Limited Category 1.

Where can I buy genuine parts for my John Deere RT30 rotary tiller?

Koenig Equipment stocks genuine John Deere parts for the RT30, and our parts teams across Ohio and Indiana can find what you need for your machine. Choose same-day delivery from a nearby Koenig store or pick up in store.

What warranty comes with the John Deere RT30 rotary tiller?

RT30 tillers carry a 1-year whole goods and 3-year gearbox warranty, and setup takes about 1.5 hours of labor. The hardened, tempered gear drive runs in an oil bath and needs less maintenance than a roller chain drive.
