Rotary Tillers

Frontier Rotary Tillers

A three-point rotary tiller prepares a seedbed for gardens, food plots and landscape beds in one pass. John Deere Frontier rotary tillers run on a 540 rpm PTO, and the RT12, RT22 and RT23 use a helical rotor for higher efficiency.

Koenig Equipment carries tillers for compact tractors through mid-size utility tractors across Ohio and Indiana. Request a quote with your tractor model, and our team will match a tiller to its horsepower and hitch.

Rotary Tiller FAQs

What size tractor do I need for a rotary tiller?
It depends on the model. RT30 tillers range from the RT3042, which needs at least 15 HP, to the RT3081, which needs at least 40 HP and tops out at 60 HP. The RT12 suits 45 to 60 HP tractors, the RT22 60 to 100 HP and the RT23 80 to 130 HP.

What is the difference between forward and reverse rotating tines?
RT30 models without an R, such as the RT3062, have forward rotating tines. R models like the RT3062R have reverse rotating tines, which break up compacted and rocky soil, sod and hard clay and keep the tiller in the ground instead of walking on top of hard soil.

How deep does a rotary tiller till?
The RT3042 and RT3049 reach 7.5 in., the larger RT30 models 8.5 in., the RT12 7.9 in., and the RT22 and RT23 10.6 in. Skid shoes control working depth on every series.

Will a rotary tiller fit my three-point hitch?
The RT3042 and RT3049 fit Limited Category 1, the RT3062 Category 1, and the RT3073 and RT3081 Category 1 and 2. All RT30 models are iMatch compatible. The RT12 fits Category 1 and 2, and the RT22 and RT23 use Category 2 with Quick-Coupler compatibility.

How much does a rotary tiller cost?
Price depends on the width and duty rating. Request a quote and our team will price the tiller set up for your tractor.
