The John Deere 2430 is available in rigid and rigid fold, three-section folding and five-section folding frame models, with five-section models reaching up to 63 ft. Standards come on 12 in. or 16 in. spacing.
With rigid TruPosition standards, the 2430 works to a maximum depth of 8 in. with 28 in. of underframe clearance. With spring-reset TruDepth standards, maximum depth is 12 in. with 32 in. of underframe clearance; TruDepth standards are available through 33 ft only.
Plan on roughly 6.0 to 10 hp per foot of width, depending on the standard type, spacing and conditions. The 2430 is designed to run at 5 to 7 mph, and its frame is built to accommodate tractors of up to 600 engine hp.
You can choose a coil-tine harrow or a hydraulic knife-edge rolling basket with an internal scraper. The rolling basket can be raised in muddy conditions, floated to lightly fluff soil or run with down pressure for a firm seedbed, and the scraper lets baskets stay in the ground in wet conditions.
TruSet Active improves tillage depth accuracy and adjusts for changing field conditions, such as tire sink in soft soil or residue building up on tires, with no operator input. The 2430 also has a telescoping rear hitch that adjusts side to side for easier hookups, and it carries a 3-year frame and standard warranty.
