John Deere Drill FAQs
What is the difference between a box drill and an air drill?
A box drill carries seed in a seedbox on the drill itself. An air drill meters seed and fertilizer from a separate air cart and blows it to the openers, which suits wider widths and larger acres.
Which John Deere drill is best for no-till?
The 1590 no-till drill is a box drill built for no-till seeding. For larger acres, the N500 Series no-till air drills offer TruSet in-cab downforce adjustment.
Can I see seed blockages from the cab?
Yes. The 730 air disk drill and the N500, H500 and P500/P600 air drills use RelativeFlow blockage monitoring to show seed and fertilizer flow from the cab.
Is there a seeder for a compact tractor?
Yes. The GS40 and GS41 ground seeders mount to the three-point hitch and are ground driven, with a built-in seed rate chart.
How much does a John Deere grain drill cost?
Price depends on the model, width, openers and options. Request a quote on any model page and our team will send current pricing, offers and John Deere Financial options.
