The P556 is a 5 section, 56 ft air hoe drill on 12 in. spacing. A high-flotation package is standard, which helps you get in the field sooner.
Yes. The P556 uses the P500 opener with two cast seed boots. With shanks on 12 in. spacing it can plant 9 in. paired rows with fertilizer banded between and below the seed, or you can switch to single row side banding with seed to fertilizer separation adjustable up to 4.5 in. Changing boots takes just two bolts.
The P500 opener handles dry, liquid and anhydrous ammonia. Point options include aqua anhydrous, NH3, liquid fertilizer, dry fertilizer and a mud special point, and NH3 knives can be used with the dry-delivery tube to apply NH3 and dry fertilizer in the same trench.
RelativeFlow blockage sensing puts sensors on all secondary hoses so you can see seed and fertilizer flow row to row from the tractor cab on your display. You can adjust blockage sensitivity and alarm delays to suit your crop and fertilizer types and catch problems early.
The P500 opener used on the P556 requires 6 hp per opener. Our team can help you match the drill and an air cart to your tractor.
