Most baler downtime comes from a handful of wear parts. Before the first cutting, check the pickup teeth, belts or chains, bearings, shear bolts and the tie system, whether your baler uses twine knotters or net wrap.
Replace broken or bent pickup teeth so they do not end up in a bale, and check belt lacing and chain tension. Keep a few spare shear bolts and pickup teeth on hand so a small problem does not stop the day.
