STARFIRE 7500 RECEIVER Precision Ag Technology FAQs

What is SF-RTK on the John Deere StarFire 7500 receiver?

SF-RTK is a satellite correction signal that gives the StarFire 7500 RTK-like accuracy of 1 in. (2.5 cm) pass to pass, with long-term repeatability where applicable. It needs no RTK radio or dealer base station, only an SF-RTK 1-year license on a StarFire 7000 or StarFire 7500 receiver.

How accurate is the John Deere StarFire 7500 receiver?

Horizontal pass-to-pass accuracy is plus or minus 5.9 in. with SF1 and plus or minus 1 in. with SF-RTK or RTK Radio. The receiver uses four satellite constellations, GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo, and tracks up to three StarFire correction satellites so it can switch signals when a tree line blocks one.

How long does the John Deere StarFire 7500 take to pull in?

Pull-in takes about 8 minutes with SF1, 8 minutes or less with SF-RTK and less than 1 minute with RTK. A choke plate in the receiver directs satellite signals into the antenna more accurately to shorten the time it takes to reach full accuracy.

Will the John Deere StarFire 7500 replace my StarFire 6000?

Yes. The StarFire 7500 is a drop-in replacement for the StarFire 6000 receiver, and it shares signal with StarFire 7000 and 6000 receivers for implement guidance and Machine Sync. The Universal receiver has more than 20 serviceable parts, and the BPF12459 locking bracket fits StarFire 7000 and 7500 receivers with your own 5/8 in. tubular hitch lock.

Can the John Deere StarFire 7500 work on golf courses or wooded ground?

Yes. John Deere Mobile RTK is compatible with the StarFire 7500 and suits places like golf courses where trees or hills block the view of satellites. It requires a StarFire 7500 Universal or Integrated receiver, a Modular Telematics Gateway with JDLink connectivity, an RTK Permanent License and a Mobile RTK Signal Renewable License.
