Planters

John Deere Planters

A good stand starts at the planter. John Deere planters place seed at a consistent depth and spacing with ExactEmerge, MaxEmerge 5e or MaxEmerge 5 row units, on frames from a compact 8-row 1745 up to the 90 ft DB90.

Koenig Equipment sells, sets up and services planters across Ohio and Indiana. Request a quote and our team will help you pick the frame, row unit and seed delivery that fit your rotation and tractor.

John Deere Planter FAQs

What is the difference between ExactEmerge and MaxEmerge row units?
ExactEmerge uses a BrushBelt that carries each seed to the bottom of the trench and matches its rearward speed to ground speed, keeping spacing accurate at speeds up to 10 mph. MaxEmerge 5 and 5e row units use vacuum seed meters with conventional seed delivery.

What size tractor do I need for a 12-row planter?
It depends on the frame. The 1715 needs a 115 to 200 hp tractor, the 1775NT 12Row30 needs at least 120 PTO hp, and the MP512 calls for 245 PTO hp or more with high 3-point lift capacity.

What is a Central Commodity System?
A Central Commodity System (CCS) holds seed in one central tank and delivers it to each row, so you fill once instead of row by row. The 1725C CCS holds 55 bu, the 1775NT 100 bu and the DB60 24Row30 130 bu.

Can one planter plant corn and soybeans at different row widths?
Yes. Split-row planters like the 1795 12Row Split can be set up as 23 rows on 15 in. spacing, and the 1745 15-row plants corn in 30 in. rows and soybeans in 15 in. rows with the same planter.

Does Koenig service planters before spring?
Yes. Our ag service technicians inspect and repair planters, and our parts teams stock the wear parts. Ask your store about an off-season inspection.
