What knife drive does the John Deere RDF30 use?
The RDF30 uses a 4 in. double-cut, dual-drive, shaft-driven cutterbar that allows higher harvesting speeds without sacrificing cut quality. Knife speed is 520 cycles per minute on X Series combines and 490 cycles per minute on S-Series combines.
How does the two-speed center feed on the John Deere RDF30 work?
The low-speed setting runs the feed drum at 200 rpm to handle easy-shelling crops like soybeans and lentils gently, while the high-speed setting at 240 rpm prevents slug feeding in canola and high-yielding cereals. A center crop flow divider helps prevent underfeeding in light crops.
