Justin Rose

Customer Account Manager

Justin has spent 3 years at Koenig Equipment, but his path to agriculture started well before that. In college he interned with a competing tractor brand and fell in love with the industry, then spent four years selling seed corn before deciding he was better suited to machines than to living organisms that depend on the weather. He has completed Level 100, 200, and 300 John Deere Production Ag Sales Training.

Justin is originally from Champaign County, Ohio, near Kiser Lake. Outside of work he's an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, and riding dirt bikes, along with tinkering with small engines and staying involved with the local A.B. Graham Memorial Center. He and his wife, Molly, have two young children, Clarie and Liam.

Customer-First Approach

Justin leans on discovery questions to uncover what a customer's operation truly needs, then builds his recommendations around the data and answers they share rather than a one-size-fits-all pitch. As he puts it, squeezing a customer into the wrong piece of equipment just to close a deal creates far more work and stress down the road than getting it right the first time. He is a details-based salesman who studies build codes and configurations before ever bringing a quote to the farm, and he stays involved well after the sale closes to make sure delivery, service, and optimization all go smoothly.

One of his most common pieces of advice:
“When you're troubleshooting a computer issue on an 8R tractor, combine, or sprayer, turn the key off, shut the disconnect off, and reboot the entire system first.”

In the Field

Justin's persistence and technical depth show up again and again. While making his rounds in Greene County, he noticed a customer's planter stopped in the field, a stressful moment for any account manager since the cause is never obvious. He pulled in anyway, found a plastic tab installed on the wrong side of a lip, reinstalled it himself, and had the customer running again before a technician even arrived. In another case, a customer's John Deere NH3 Bar 2510H was struggling to apply nitrogen through most of a spring day. Justin stayed on-site for six hours, eventually looping in John Deere's Tillage Specialist, and traced the issue to defective aftermarket scrapers that were packing mud between the scrapers and discs. He sourced the correct scrapers and had the customer back in the field the same day. Justin has also built his business on persistence: one customer took more than a year of consistent follow-up before committing to a new planter, ultimately field-starting it and discovering how much value features like Section Control added to his operation.

  • Quick communication with problem solving excellence, including looping in John Deere specialists when needed
  • Long-term follow-up that turns hesitant customers into committed ones

“Knowing we held up our end of the deal and delivered a machine successfully is always fulfilling. I try to arrive before the machine does, just so I can see the customer's face when it pulls into the driveway.”
