John Deere Z500 Series FAQs
What is the difference between the Z500 and the Z300?
Z500 mowers have 24 to 25 HP engines, decks from 48 to 60 inches and a 4 year warranty. Z300 mowers have 20 to 25 HP engines, decks from 42 to 54 inches and a 3 year or 200 hour warranty, so the Z500 suits larger lawns and more hours each season.
Which Z500 should I choose?
The Z515E and Z530M are good fits for lawns where a 48 inch deck works. The Z530R adds 54 or 60 inch High Capacity decks for more open ground, and the Z545R adds an EFI engine with Electronic Throttle Control. Both R models have the largest seat and 500 hour warranty.
How do I adjust the cutting height?
On the Z530M, cutting height adjusts from 1 to 4 inches in quarter-inch steps with a foot-lift pedal and cut-height pin.
What warranty comes with a Z500 mower?
The Z515E and Z530M carry 4 years or 300 hours, and the Z530R and Z545R carry 4 years or 500 hours, whichever comes first.
