A well-designed mower deck can make the difference between just getting the job done and getting eye-catching results. The 7-gauge, 0.179-in. (4.6-mm) fabricated mower deck delivers a higher quality of cut in more diverse conditions to enhance mowing performance.

Key features of the fabricated mower deck include: 

• 36-in. (91-cm) cutting width on Q810E model and 48-in. (122-cm) cutting width on Q820E model
• Manufactured from 7-gauge, 0.179-in. (4.6-mm) steel to minimize the number of welds and provide a smooth underside, with fewer sharp corners, for reduced material buildup.
• A compact footprint delivers greater maneuverability when working in tight quarters.
• A deep-deck design delivers excellent airflow, so material is processed quickly and efficiently.
• A powerful vacuum effect is created by the deck's unique air-flow design, which pulls more grass upright so that the blades can cut more evenly.

The wide-discharge opening and raised deflector provide even clipping dispersal for an excellent finished appearance in all conditions.

Caster wheels with flat-free tires contribute to a smooth, even cutting job:

• Large, flat-free caster wheels carry the mower deck smoothly over the lawn.
• Caster wheels are recessed to reduce the vehicle footprint and turning radius.
  • With the wheels less exposed, there is less chance they will get snagged by immovable obstacles, thus improving maneuverability, and reducing damage.

The QuikTrak is equipped with a floating mower deck that offers several advantages:

•  The lift lever allows the operator to raise the mower to the fully-raised position from the operator's station.

  • Convenient when transporting from one mowing area to another and when loading/unloading.

  • Allows the operator to raise the mower over roots or other obstructions in the lawn on the fly.

• Lift-assist springs reduce the effort required to raise the mower deck.

Mower cutting height can be set from 1.5-in. (3.8-cm) to 5-in. (12.7-cm) in 0.25-in. (0.64-cm) increments:

• Pull the lift lever back to the full-raised position.
• Remove the tethered pin and place it at the desired cutting height.
• Lower the lift lever; the lift lever and mower will stop at the desired cutting height.

Mower deck spindle covers allow for cleaning while installed and can be removed without tools for maintenance. A single belt drive has low repair costs and accessible for cleaning.

Optional mulching attachment

Optional mulching attachment and special mulching blades are available:

• This is a high-performance mulching attachment that includes formed steel baffles to control the material for superior performance.
• The special mulching blades can also be used for side discharging, though overall cutting performance may be slightly less than with the standard blades.

The large operator platform is cushioned to absorb shock to give the operator a smooth and comfortable ride.

A high-quality leaning pad is provided for operator comfort and to insulate the operator from heat given off by the machine.

A storage pocket on the battery box provides a convenient place for the operator to store a cell phone, gloves, etc.

Control levers are covered with cushioning material for operator comfort. Two stationary reference bars are provided for operator comfort and convenience:

• Front reference bar is included to control speed and reduce fatigue from control lever operation.
• Rear reference bar is included to make reverse operation easy while maintaining operator confidence.

 Controls are color coded and logically placed to make them easy for the operator to find and use:

• Ground speed and direction are easily controlled by moving the two hand-lever hydrostatic drive controls forward or reverse.
  • Speeds are infinitely variable up to 8-mph (12.9-km/h) forward and 3.5-mph (5.6-km/h) reverse.
  • A positive neutral-lock holds the control levers in neutral when the park brake is engaged.
• Two stationary reference bars are provided for operator convenience and security.
  • Front reference bar is included to control speed and reduce fatigue from control lever operation.

A tire brake is provided to give stability for parking the vehicle on hillsides and for transport; it should be engaged whenever the machine is not being used:

• Brake must be engaged to start the machine, for added safety.
• The tire brake bars are easily adjusted, if necessary, to maintain effective operation.

Mower deck height-of-cut adjustment

An easy-to-use cutting height adjustment system allows the operator to adjust the mower deck cutting height with no tools and minimal effort:

• Pull the lift lever back to the fully raised position.
• Remove the tethered pin and place it at the desired cutting height.
• Lower the lift lever; the lift lever and mower will stop at the desired cutting height.

The E and M Series QuikTrak mowers have a 1200-hour or 36-month, whichever comes first, bumper-to-bumper warranty. The R Series mowers have a 1500-hour or 36-month, whichever comes first, warranty. All QuikTrak Mowers also have an unlimited hour 24-month warranty. The warranty is hassle free, with John Deere covering the complete machine.

The QuikTrak warranties are also aligned with John Deere’s commercial walk-behind and Z900 ZTrak Mowers so you can roll your entire fleet on one contract, with one warranty duration, and one payment schedule.

All service and maintenance points are easy to access and within reach.

Heavy-duty air cleaner is easy to reach and easy to service:

Tie-down points

Four tie-down locations, two at the front and two at the rear, are provided for safely towing or anchoring the vehicle.

Mower deck safety certification

A JDLinkâ„¢ M Modem connects a commercial mower to the John Deere Operations Center, which enables you to manage your fleet more efficiently, increase productivity, and reduce labor costs. With a modem and Operations Center, you are always connected to the work in progress and can make timely adjustments to keep your fleet mowing.

JDLink M Modem

A JDLink M Modem is standard equipment on model year 2024 and newer TerrainCut Front and Wide-Area Mowers.

A modem can be field installed on:

John Deere Operations Center

The John Deere Operations Center tracks your fleet and provides tools to analyze mower data. The connected features vary by mower model.

Location and status

The JDLink M Modem regularly transmits the location and operational status of each mower in the fleet so you can monitor mowing progress in Operations Center.

• Location history-Display of map with current and past locations of each mower.
• GPS Speed-Maps each mower’s current speed, based on GPS location data, so you can target operator training.
• Hours of operation-Reports the time of day the vehicle has been operated.
• Geofencing-Alerts when a mower enters or exits a prescribed area, for example if the mower has been stolen or an operator entered an area that should not be mowed.
• Curfews-Alerts if the mower is operating outside prescribed times, for example residential areas with early-morning noise restrictions.

Engine hours

The modem regularly transmits the mower’s engine hours to inform maintenance planning and balance use.

• Sync-The mower reports actual engine hours to the Operations Center.
• Key-Engine hours are estimated by monitoring the key switch. Engine hours can be corrected in Operations Center.

Maintenance planner

Factory or custom maintenance plans can be established in Operations Center. Maintenance alerts are sent when engine hours reach maintenance intervals.

Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs)

On select products, the modem transmits the trouble codes generated by the mower’s control units to the Operations Center. Addressing DTCs can reduce downtime and repair costs. For example, a low-engine oil pressure DTC can indicate an engine is low on oil. Addressing the issue can prevent costly downtime and repairs.

To help address issues quickly, when a DTC is generated, the Operations Center can display a push notification on the mobile app and send an email. Operations Center can also be configured to limit notifications to stop-level severity DTCs.

Machine Analyzer Tool

On select products, the modem reports the time the mower spent transporting, idling, and working. The Operations Center’s Machine Analyzer tool reports usage data which allows you to analyze operator behavior, identify causes of low productivity, and initiate corrective actions.

Fuel level

On select products, the modem reports the fuel level. On these products, an analysis of fuel consumption is available in the Operations Center Machine Analyzer Tool. Measuring fuel consumption enables you to address causes of excessive fuel use.

Service Advisor Remote

On select products, John Deere dealers can perform remote diagnostics, software programming, and adjustments without the cost of a service call.

A JDLink M Modem is standard equipment on model year 2024 and newer (SN 110,001-) TerrainCut Front Mowers and model year 2024 and newer (SN 690,001-) TerrainCut Wide-Area Mowers.

A JDLink M Modem can be field installed on the commercial mowing products listed below. Field installation attachments simplify modem installation, and include brackets, mounting hardware, harness, and instructions. Field installation requires a JDLink M Modem to be ordered separately. The field installation attachments include a wiring harness therefore the modem should be ordered with the less harness option code.
