54IN SNOW BLOWER Riding Mower Attachment FAQs

Which tractors does the John Deere 54 in. Quick-Hitch snow blower fit?

The 54 in. snow blower attaches with the required front Quick-Hitch and is shown on an X739 tractor. It is not compatible with the 425, 445 and 455 Tractors, and some compact utility tractors need a front-attaching support kit to use the Quik-Tatch front hitch. Our team can confirm the fit for your tractor.

How does the John Deere 54 in. Quick-Hitch snow blower attach?

The blower slips into and locks onto the front quick-hitch with attached snap pins, so there are no tools or loose parts. The same hitch works with a front blade and rotary brooms, so you can change between them without tools.

Is the John Deere 54 in. snow blower a two-stage blower?

Yes. A low-speed auger moves snow to the center into a high-speed rotor that blows it out the chute. The auger is driven by the tractor's 2000-rpm front PTO through a 5.5-to-1 bevel gear drive, turning at 176 rpm, which helps in deep drifts and crusted, packed snow.

How do I aim the chute on the John Deere 54 in. snow blower?

Hydraulic chute rotation is standard and turns the spout up to 200 degrees, 100 degrees to each side, from the tractor seat. The deflector cap adjusts with a large knob, and optional remote spout cap control kits are available for most tractors, though not for 1025R and 1026R Tractors with cabs.

How is the John Deere 54 in. snow blower protected from damage?

Shear bolts at the impeller and at each end of the auger protect the drive system if ice or a solid object gets caught, and four spare shear bolts are stored on the auger housing. Heavy-duty side skid shoes made of high-carbon, heat-treated steel protect the bottom of the blower and are easy to replace.
