John Deere 8 Series FAQs
What is the difference between the 8R, 8RT and 8RX?
They share the same 8 Series platform. The 8R runs on wheels, the 8RT on two tracks and the 8RX on four tracks. The 8R also adds lower-horsepower 230, 250 and 280 models.
How much horsepower does an 8 Series tractor have?
Rated engine hp runs from 230 on the 8R 230 to 410 on the 8R 410, 8RT 410 and 8RX 410, with maximum engine hp from 253 to 443.
Which 8 Series tractors offer the Electric Variable Transmission?
The 410 models offer the e23 PowerShift or the Electric Variable Transmission (EVT). The EVT is compatible with electrical power generation, including the Spudnik e-fan harvester and Nuhn e-pump.
Should I choose wheels or tracks?
It depends on your soils, row spacing, implements and road travel. Track systems give more ground contact and traction and avoid power hop, and our team can walk through your operation to help you decide.
Does Koenig help with precision technology on 8 Series tractors?
Yes. Every 8 Series has fully integrated precision ag technology, and our team helps with setup and support for guidance, displays and data.
