Precision, Flexibility, and Efficiency – Designed the John Deere Way
John Deere Designed ExactInject™ Direct Injection Pump
ExactInject™ is John Deere’s all-new, fully integrated Direct Injection system engineered to bring a new level of precision, efficiency, and operational flexibility to crop protection applications. Designed from the ground up by John Deere, ExactInject enables on-demand chemical mixing and delivery across up to five product tanks and three pump configurations, helping operators reduce waste, minimize cleanout and changeover time, and significantly increase productivity by cutting time spent filling and mixing.
In today’s operating environment – defined by rising input costs, tighter margins, and increasing regulatory pressure – operators need smarter, more efficient ways to manage complex crop protection programs. ExactInject was built specifically to meet that challenge.
Purpose-Built for Modern Crop Protection Programs
At the core of ExactInject is a proven electronic metering technology derived from John Deere planter row units, delivering exceptional accuracy and control across an industry-leading flow-rate range of 0.5 to 220 oz/min (15-6505 ml/min). This wide operating range allows ExactInject to precisely meter and apply a broad spectrum of crop chemistries – from low-rate products to high-volume applications – without compromising accuracy or performance.
By injecting products directly into the solution stream on demand, ExactInject eliminates the need to pre-mix the entire tank. This means:
- Operators can run multiple products and multiple modes of action in a single day with far less downtime
- Incompatible chemistries can be managed more efficiently
- The sprayer only mixes what is needed, when it’s needed – reducing leftover product and chemical waste
Productivity That Pays
ExactInject™ Direct Injection System - Available for the 408R, 410R, and 612R Sprayers
ExactInject is designed to keep machines spraying and operators productive:
- Less filling and mixing time means more acres covered per day
- Automated valve control with fresh water rinsing, dramatically reduces cleanout and changeover time between products
- Fewer tank rinses and quicker transitions between jobs help maximize in-field efficiency during tight spray windows
By reducing non-productive time and simplifying chemical changeovers, ExactInject helps operators do more with the same machine in the same day – a critical advantage during peak application seasons.
Designed for Efficiency, Built for the Bottom Line
Direct Injection with ExactInject doesn’t just improve convenience – it delivers measurable business benefits:
- Reduces input costs by minimizing waste and leftover mixed product
- Improves sustainability through more precise application and reduced chemical disposal
- Protects the bottom line by increasing machine utilization and lowering operational inefficiencies
In an era of low commodity prices, high input costs, and increasing regulatory scrutiny, ExactInject gives operators a powerful tool to run a leaner, smarter, and more adaptable spraying operation.
Why a Deere-Designed Direct Injection System Matters
Earlier direct injection systems provided operators with valuable functionality, but real‑world use highlighted opportunities for improvement in consistency, system coordination, and operator confidence. Variability in performance and system complexity made it challenging for some operators to always feel fully assured during application, especially in demanding conditions.
ExactInject was developed with those insights in mind, focusing on simplicity, reliability, and confidence in the field. Instead of using separate controllers for each pump, ExactInject employs a single, integrated controller across all configurations. This unified architecture improves system coordination, enhances communication between components, and delivers a more stable and dependable application experience.
The operator experience was also a key area of emphasis. While traditional ISO-based interfaces required navigating between multiple pump screens, ExactInject—powered by the Hybrid QT interface—consolidates all pump information into one intuitive view. Operators can monitor and manage all pumps simultaneously, make quick adjustments, and maintain control without added complexity.
The Hybrid QT interface further enhances precision and visibility with high‑definition graphics that clearly display key application data such as rate, flow, and pressure. With improved system integration, VT+ compatibility, and a streamlined layout, ExactInject helps operators apply with confidence and consistency—pass after pass.
Precision made simple. The John Deere QT Hybrid user-interface with enhanced ISO-VT for ExactInject puts the Direct Injection control right at your fingertips.

As solution tank mixes become more complex, operators need a better way to manage the products they are mixing in helping to reduce the risk of chemical residue. The integrated direct-injection system provides an additional carrying capacity for raw chemicals and allows injection of single, dual, or triple products directly into the boom depending on installed configuration.

Inject up to three chemicals (two high volume, one low volume) |
NOTE: Low-volume tanks and pumps must be configured with at least one high-volume tank and pump. High-volume tank and pump can be configured by itself.
Direct injection helps provide quicker changeovers and faster cleanouts while also helping to minimize the risk of using multiple chemicals. This is accomplished by allowing operators the ability to isolate higher-residual-risk chemicals in the injection system while mixing lower-risk chemicals in the solution tank.
The minimum and maximum application rates for each pump are as follows:
