IN FIELD DATA SHARING Precision Ag Technology FAQs

What is John Deere In-Field Data Sharing?

John Deere In-Field Data Sharing lets you monitor up to six tractors, sprayers, nutrient applicators or combines on one screen. Machines working the same field can see each other's coverage and as-applied maps, even in low light or dusty conditions.

How does John Deere In-Field Data Sharing prevent over-application?

When a machine crosses an area already covered by another machine, it can shut off planter rows, seeding sections, sprayer nozzles and fertilizer spreaders or ranks. That reduces over-application, lowers input costs and gives you more accurate documentation data.

How often does John Deere In-Field Data Sharing update?

Shared work data is sent and received in 30-second segments, so a display typically receives coverage updates about every 30 seconds and group member position updates about every 6 seconds. Transfer times can vary with the strength of the data connection.

How do operators join a work group with John Deere In-Field Data Sharing?

The Join feature lets an operator quickly join a nearby work group and accept the client, farm, field and guidance line along with crop and documentation entries. During planting or harvest, the operator must select the same crop as the rest of the group to join.

Can I resume an earlier job with John Deere In-Field Data Sharing?

Yes. When creating or joining a group, operators choose whether to start new work, which clears past coverage, or resume work using existing coverage. Shared Work shows data available from the cloud, and Work History shows data created on the display.

Where can I buy genuine parts for my John Deere display?

Koenig Equipment stocks genuine John Deere parts for the displays and machines you run In-Field Data Sharing on, and our parts teams across Ohio and Indiana can find what you need. Choose same-day delivery from a nearby Koenig store or pick up in store.
